The House in Kalamunda

After looking at lots of places this is the one we chose.  The first house we looked at was quite nice, it was near a park and it had a small pool too.  We almost rented that one but decided to keep looking.  Then we went to the hills to look at houses in Kalamunda which is where Katie really liked.

The first two houses we saw there were terrible! One of them had a shabby and empty pool that was broken, and the other just was dark and gloomy.  Both were rather smelly and the decor looked like it hadn't been renewed in the last 40 years.  Worse than my house in Plymouth!!

Then we looked at some others that were starting to get much nicer. The next house we looked at had a stream in the bottom of the garden, near to the Lesmurdie waterfalls and it was very nice. It had a big car port too.  But the lounge wasn't very nice as it was all stone slabs and wasn't laid out well inside.

Then we went to the last and most expensive house on the list, and guess what. We loved it!  Here are some pictures from the estate agent website so they are low resolution.

We move in on the 4th October!  We have met the owners and they are really nice.  They have agreed to leave us stuff to use (dishwashers and washing machines etc) which is very very helpful.

You can see where we are on Google Maps

Inside a real fire one end and a woodburner the other.
Australia *is* cold in the winter!

Nice kitchen but no idea where I will put the fridge...

Lounge area plus the verandah...  Need a barbie ;-)

More to follow when we move in!
