Camping by the sea at Wedge Island

Heading off up the beach for the 98km off road epic from Lancelin to Cervantes, via Wedge Island.

We met some very nice guys along the way. (Not unconnected with the very last photo.)

Keep the speed up and the tyre pressures down and float on the sand. Scary.

Camping in the snow? Could be, the sand was

Yes, Australia is a hot country.

Snugged up behind a dune. Sleeping to the
sound of the sea... *
*and the wind, the flapping tent, the sand raining in the tent, the odd 4wd
steaming up the beach... etc.

Landcruiser. "King off the road" say Toyota but they omitted to mention sand.

Kids larking about on top of 'our' dune as the sun sets in the Indian Ocean.

What are they like?!!

Little girl & big car in the Nambung desert national park, by the pinnacles.

Some of the pinnacles...

Drying out the snatch strap after use is good practice, I'm told. Yes, we needed it.
