Sammora Fitting Out (Jon and Oli)

Farewells at Perth Airport

As soon as Oli arrives in the UK, it is time for Pasties.

Lifting out operations at Agana

Mike, Phil and Oli inspect the prop... it is still there (which is good, see 2014...)

Tracking down the cause of tight steering we discover a huge crack in the rudder... oh no.

This is the rudder dismantled for repair.
No way are we going to be in the water soon...

This was the real cause of the tight steering - a worn cable in a worn liner.

Another night on the yard.

Oliver reties the anchor chain to the octoplait rope. Not easy!

All this maintenance is taking it out of Oli. Not helped by Phil ;-)

John and Stewart arrive - to find the boat up on its stand (deja vu 2015!)

Yet another night on the yard...

New rudder arrives at midnight - yes, midnight.
It is immediately fitted. Bedtime at 2am.

Rigging the genoa once back in the water.
Not a good idea to do it in the yard!

Test run... seems OK so far.

Bobovisce for the first night.

Going ashore for eats.

Oliver keeping up to speed with his school work. No, really he did.

Debating where to go next.
Not a great forecast...

Leaning on route to Vis

Arrived Vis Harbour. No buoys out and strong (34kt) winds forecast overnight.

Leaving Stonince to rather stormy looking clouds.
Stu does not look worried.
